Response to Ethanol-Based Incidents: Foam performance test results (pdf)

The EERC tested various foam agents against ethanol fuel fires to determine which foam types are most effective in extinguishing fires and maintaining vapor suppression. The tests were conducted over a two-week period in February 2007 at the Ansul Fire Technology Center in Marinette, WI.

Major Projects Underway

• New video geared toward first responders dealing with ethanol incidents
  
• Training package for how to respond to ethanol incidents including an instructor's manual, participant packet and PowerPoint presentations
  
• Anticipated release date for both: May 2008
